the Belly is a growin'

well we are going into our 15th week and nothing really is happening. the biggest change is that my regular pants are starting not to fit. which I have to remember it is the baby not me just porking out!

I did a little shopping for maternity clothes and found them quite comfortable but not quite ready for them yet and then I remembered all these ads that I saw for these things called Bella Bands. they are basically an elastic-y fabric (much like a camisole) that you wear over your unbuttoned pants that keep them up. I would liken them to a pant girdle. Adam and I went to a maternity store that was selling them and I have not gone a day with out wearing them since. it is fantastic! all my pants fit everywhere else but in the waist so it seemed like a waste to buy a whole new pant wardrobe so early ( I know it is strange me not wanting to buy clothes but I am trying to save a big shopping spree until I am bigger, then watch out!) but with these little things I have my pants all unbuttoned and no one knows, until now, since I just published that on the internet!.

the day we went shopping it happened to be fathers day so I treated Adam to a lunch on his first unofficial father's day. then we taunted our selves by going into potterybarn kids. I wanted to buy everything in the store, it was all so cute!! there was a little dog and a baby boy in the store and I wanted to pick them both up and run out of the store. I cant handle that much cuteness in the same area.

Last Friday we had our second appt with my Doc and it was very uneventful. I wanted to do the ultrasound again so I could again get visual confirmation that this was actually happening but we got the next best thing, we got to hear the heartbeat again. so who ever it is in there, they are still in there pumping away. Dr. Russell made a prediction on the sex, she said that because it did not try to run away and sat very still while we were listening to the heartbeat that her prediction was that it was a girl. which for some reason was news to me. I have been under the assumption that it was a boy the entire time and was shocked that there is a possibility that it could be a girl. I don't know why but I just assumed it was a boy so this possibility kind of rock us over the weekend. I think we were so focused on picking a boys name that we just went with that. Now we have a whole list of girls names to narrow down. Adam has already decided that any little girl of his is going to wear dresses, have tea parties, and be very polite. If our children are anything like us we are going to get some stubborn little people and if they don't want to wear a dress they are not going to!
