He's Here!!!

After what seems a long time waiting Jackson Wesley Morris has finally made his entrance to the world. Here is a run down of the events this week.

On Monday morning at about 4 am I started having some pretty intense contractions but not knowing if they were real or not I called the nurses hotline and since I have a doc appt at 9:30 that morning they told me to wait it out until I could see my doctor.

at the appointment my doc said I was 2.5-3cm dialated but had not started really labor yet and it could happen today or a couple days from now. so Adam and I went back home got some lunch and then stuff started to happen. contractions started happening rapidly and Adam made the executive decision to head back to the hospital. by noon i was admitted, 6cm dialated and requesting an epidural, stat. natural birth be damned!!by the time the epidural kicked in around 4pm we were just waiting for my water to break, which it never did. after some assistance from the doc and about 30-45 mins of pushing Jackson was born at 8:45pm Dec 8th 2008. (one month to the day before my birthday which is kind of cool.) here are his stats

Jackson Wesley Morris
12/8/08
7lbs 12 oz
20 inches
cutest baby in the world (really it is official, i checked)

waiting...

well we are in the last weeks of being pregnant and overall it has been pretty good. I have only felt really pregnant the past couple weeks. I have got a good waddle going on and I cant reach my feet but that makes a great excuse to go get a pedicure which I did last week. Fantastic!

Jackson's due date is on Friday and we are basically just sitting around waiting for things to get started. both Adam and I think he is going to come tomorrow (Sunday) but that may just be wishful thinking. But as of my last doctors appointment on Wednesday I was 2cm dilated and 90% effaced so something is going on and I did not even feel it! I am really excited to meet this little person who has been trying to bust out through my belly button for the last couple months. we have spent so much time talking about him and preparing for his arrival and we dont even know him yet. it is going to be an experience actually begin able to hold and snuggle him. and of course pinch those little chubby cheeks we already know he has.

Well next update we should have some pics of our little boy!!! Wish us luck!!

Life

well as we go along our little journey of doing all major life changes in the same 4 months we took a moment to pause and be thankful for what we do have. I admit I was become a negative nelly and was getting really annoyed that we have not sold our house yet and the clock is ticking on when Jackson is going to make his big debut. but this weekend while I was having a slight breakdown about wanting a bigger apartment for the time being and needing my own stuff we realized that we are really lucky that we are able to make all of these adjustments in our life and they are more of an inconvenience and annoyance than a tragic event. really this whole process is a good thing. we got to move back home at a time when we really want our family and friends to be close, we both got to keep our jobs and other than a few bumps along the way things have gone rather smoothly.
usually with big changes I find all of the reasons "why not" "or "cant because" first knowing full well all the positives that are out there. Adam, luckily, is the other half of this equation. "big change??Okay!! everything is sunshine and roses so lets do it!" so on some level we get each other to the middle ground of " this is the sucky stuff but here is how we can fix that and get to the fun stuff"
anyway my whole point is that change is kind of like a pair of jeans. You have to have them, sometimes you go through some uncomfortable ones that you swore were going to change your life for the better in every way but you were in one of those stores with the damned skinny circus mirrors, but other times you're not sure about it in the beginning but you buy it anyway and it turns into one of your favorite pairs.
I love bringing things back to shopping!!

Baby Update:
I am currently in my 32nd week and for those who have not been around pregnant people or are not doctors that means I have 8 weeks to go! Ekk!! Starting to freak out a bit but it is a good freakout.we are just excited to meet this little person we have been talking about and to for the past 7 months. We had another ultrasound last week to check and see how big he was because I am measuring a couple weeks bigger than I should but he is right where he should be at about 3lbs 3oz. I just have a short torso apparently. we also wanted them just to double check that he was a boy just in case the first one was incorrect but no worries he is DEFINITELY a boy. I even could tell and i am not a professional. Adam was very proud:-)
we have a few pics that we will scan and post soon. there are a couple that are so cute he had one little hand on his belly the whole time and the other scrunched up under his chubby little cheek. Yes he does have chubby cheeks already! so cute!! there is also a pic of his giant foot preparing to kick me right in the side! he is so grounded for that when he comes out. other than that news there is nothing else happening just a lot a prep and me folding and refolding his clothes.

Over it...

Can I just say that I am over pretty much everything right now. Here is a list of things I am sick of:
living in this apartment
of owning a home that I dont live in anymore and cant sell
politicians and the constant stream of BS
my bra digging into the top of my ever expanding belly
rain
the smoker downstairs
people parking in your parking spot
relocation companies
contractors who cant type up a simple document
finding out that I am anemic (no biggy just have to take an extra iron supplement but still annoying)

I think that might be all the things that are getting on my nerves today. these blogs are great for venting!!
Hopefully tomorrow I will be a little more pleasant, i figured I can have one or two rant days.

Move Successful!

Wheww!! it has been a rough couple weeks but we are officially residents of Oregon again. Well minus the changing of the drivers licenses, car tabs, and voting registration, physically we are residents of Oregon. I must say it is much easier to move back to a city that you have already lived in, I already know where all the good bars are! Even though I cant get anything fun and alcoholic at them! I have become a great fan of virgin Mojitos though.

we are settling into our apartment, well I am settling in to the apartment and kind of taking over the bachelor pad that it has been for the past month and a half. I have taken over the dining room table as my office and the living room couch has become the dining area, so it just feels like we are back in college a little bit. but i don't think that Adam or Nala mind much

It is amazing the things that you miss when all of your stuff is in storage. All I want right now is my stoneware cookie sheet. I never knew you could live a piece of cookware but i love my cookie sheet. you can cook anything you like on it and it always makes things nice and brown and crispy. so frustrating!! the idea of a fully furnished apartment obviously does not take into account someone who likes to cook. i know requesting a kitchen aid mixer might be a bit much but at least give me a decent chefs knife!

as far as the move goes we have done as much as we can, now it is a waiting game to see when our house sells. it is a constant ticking clock in my head because I would love to be in a new house by thanksgiving but at this rate just a bigger apartment would do! But there is no sense in worrying about it because it does nothing to help the situation. That has been my mantra over the past couple weeks and so far it has kept me from having a complete meltdown.

Baby update!
Jackson is right on schedule and my belly is steadily getting bigger. It feels like every morning there is more of it and it is a little shocking. Sitting up in a chair is starting to become difficult and uncomfortable for long periods of time so there has been lots of pacing around the apartment or going for walks. Adam has caught me in some strange positions on the floor over the past couple days and I tell him that sometimes you just have to spread out on the floor in order to get comfortable. I am totally lucking that it is football season so it is not too strange for me to be laying on the couch all day with food balancing on my belly. i can blame it on the football not being unable to sit up straight:-)

but we are about 11 weeks from go time. I know, it is starting to go crazy fast. I helps that I have been distracted by the move the past month or so but now everything is going to start happening really fast now. we have our first baby class in a few weeks and then it is getting everything prepared. i have heard stories about babies being a month early and after I past the 25th week my friend told me that at this point he could come at any time and be okay. I promptly told Jackson that his mother is very calendar oriented and I have things planned around his arrival of 12/12/08. now I understand that some things happen and he may have to change his plans for a few weeks before or after but to come any sooner than that is just not good manners and it is never to early to practice good manners. so hopefully we have come to an agreement that he wont try to surprise me.

Random...

Okay so here is the deal, I am no good at updating or looking at social networking websites. Facebook, Myspace etc, I have accounts on all of them but I think I checked the myspace page for the first time in about a year today. So don't be offend if you write to me on one of those and I don't respond. it is not that you are not my friend anymore or I have deleted your profile, it is because I am bad at it! I am surprised I have kept this blog going for so long!! along that same note I thought that I needed to put some pictures up here so people don't think the only picture of me is with my husband at a football game. at least the pic on this blog is one where I am dressed up.

this post is going to be a travel back in time with Renata because she is not very punctual about posting pictures. so here it goes.

I have been getting requests for baby belly photos so here are a couple that we have taken so far.

Me at 16 weeks. It just looks like I ate too much pasta!

Here it is at 24 weeks, taken a few days ago.

Here is Adam and I at the first Seahawks preseason game over the weekend, it was crazy hot this weekend but it was awesome to get back to the football field. and Of course I had to stop by the pro shop and pick Jackson up a few things. So Cute!!!

Here are a couple of girlfriends at Christy's B-day Party. Christy is the one on the left and Denise is on the right. Hopefully you know I am in the middle. I worked with Denise at Charters & Associates and then for awhile at Brooks until she moved to Yakima. Both Critty & Denise are a kick in the pants!!

these were my first official mother's day flowers that I received from my mommy! very pretty bouquet. not to be out done Adam made me breakfast that morning as well. I have not even had the kid yet and I am getting presents, i like it!

this on is going way back to Christmas time but that is what happens when you don't download your pics for that long. This is Adam or some forrest beast hunting down our Christmas tree at a farm in Woodinville. It just makes me laugh every time I see it because he just looks like he is on the hunt for the perfect tree and is tromping through the woods.

This is Emma, one of the best pugs in the world. her mommy and daddy (ie, Melanie & Chris) brought her and her brother Guinness to the Xmas tree farm with us that day and they had a good time but were ready to get back in to the car asap!

This is Guinness and he is a little camera shy., He has spent so much of his life in the spotlight he would like to keep his whereabouts on the down low.

well that is all the good pics that I have for now. I promise to try and update at least this blog more often that I do myspace or facebook:-)

More Shocking News!

Hey everyone, as if have a baby this year was not enough we are embarking on another life changing event. Guess what it is... come on just take a wild guess. well I will eliminate some things for you. No we are not sheding all our worldly possesions to experience life as cross country backpackers. that would only be fun for about a week. No Adam is not going to try out for the NFL even though he is pretty sure he would be a fantastic quarterback. and finally no we are not selling our bodies to science for research.

Did you guess?? Well I will stop torturing you. We are moving back to Portland!!! we always knew we would be heading back just not at the same time that we were having a baby. Timing is everything right!
Adam finally recieved the promotion he was waiting for and is now the Portland Sales Manager. he first day is actually on monday and he moved down to our temporary apartment today. I will be moving down mid september and hopefuly shortly after that we will have a new home down in Portland. Now as most of you know I am a big planner and I had things planned out until next march needless to say everything has had to be changed but so far so good. a little stressful but we have divided and counquered all the tasks that we need to do so now we just need to sell our house, get a new one and have a baby in the next 4 months. Easy Peasy!!

anyway we will keep you up to date about our next adventure until then, See you in Portland!!!

Its a...

BOY!!!
after a canceled appointment yesterday and a surprise phone call this morning we were finally able to go take a look at our little lima bean to see if it sprouted into a boy or a girl. With in a few minutes he showed us the goods. Not shy about letting it all hang out for the world to see quite yet. Of course I started to cry which I did not think I was going to do so that was a little surprising.
The top picture is the tell all shot if you can see where the little arrow is pointing then stop looking at my sons goods!! :-)

I must say that we have a very well behaved little boy already. he was very responsive to the ultra sound tech and turned when she asked. and on que I really started to feel him kicking around last night, enough so that you can feel it from the out side if he is in the right position. we are so excited that in 20 weeks (yes I am half way done!) we will welcome little Jackson Welsey to the world.

Now begins the fun stuff, there are tons of little outfits that I saw at babys r us over the weekend that I now must go and buy. and there are little seahawks jerseys that also must be purchased. this will keep me occupied in the next couple months preparing so the mall better watch out, mom on the loose!

the Belly is a growin'

well we are going into our 15th week and nothing really is happening. the biggest change is that my regular pants are starting not to fit. which I have to remember it is the baby not me just porking out!

I did a little shopping for maternity clothes and found them quite comfortable but not quite ready for them yet and then I remembered all these ads that I saw for these things called Bella Bands. they are basically an elastic-y fabric (much like a camisole) that you wear over your unbuttoned pants that keep them up. I would liken them to a pant girdle. Adam and I went to a maternity store that was selling them and I have not gone a day with out wearing them since. it is fantastic! all my pants fit everywhere else but in the waist so it seemed like a waste to buy a whole new pant wardrobe so early ( I know it is strange me not wanting to buy clothes but I am trying to save a big shopping spree until I am bigger, then watch out!) but with these little things I have my pants all unbuttoned and no one knows, until now, since I just published that on the internet!.

the day we went shopping it happened to be fathers day so I treated Adam to a lunch on his first unofficial father's day. then we taunted our selves by going into potterybarn kids. I wanted to buy everything in the store, it was all so cute!! there was a little dog and a baby boy in the store and I wanted to pick them both up and run out of the store. I cant handle that much cuteness in the same area.

Last Friday we had our second appt with my Doc and it was very uneventful. I wanted to do the ultrasound again so I could again get visual confirmation that this was actually happening but we got the next best thing, we got to hear the heartbeat again. so who ever it is in there, they are still in there pumping away. Dr. Russell made a prediction on the sex, she said that because it did not try to run away and sat very still while we were listening to the heartbeat that her prediction was that it was a girl. which for some reason was news to me. I have been under the assumption that it was a boy the entire time and was shocked that there is a possibility that it could be a girl. I don't know why but I just assumed it was a boy so this possibility kind of rock us over the weekend. I think we were so focused on picking a boys name that we just went with that. Now we have a whole list of girls names to narrow down. Adam has already decided that any little girl of his is going to wear dresses, have tea parties, and be very polite. If our children are anything like us we are going to get some stubborn little people and if they don't want to wear a dress they are not going to!

Anniversary Weekend

This last weekend Adam & I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. Wahoo! to stick with tradition we took the long memorial day weekend as a mini vacation up to the Sun Mountain Lodge just outside Winthrop, Wa. It was great! we were out in the middle of nowhere washington at a fantastic resort. as tradition also dictates the first few hours there were spent napping which is officially my favorite thing to do, followed closely by eating.

On Saturday we explored the town of Winthrop a bit. we ate breakfast at a place called the Duck Brand, which came highly recommend by our friends Chris & Melanie. the great thing was I got 2 giant blueberry pancakes for $4. you cant beat that. I thought I was full after that but then we say the sweet shop and they had just pulled fresh cinnamon rolls out of the oven so I had to get one of those as well. so good!! luckily after all of this eating we went on a hike around the resort which was very pretty. at the end of the trail we were on there were a couple young deer that I did not want to mess with so we waited a few minutes to pass until they moved on. You never know if there are angry deer so I did not want to chance it. The highlight of the day was our anniversary spa treatments. 3 hours in a spa will do wonders for anybody! I would be happy to do that again right now!

On Sunday we went on a Cowboy Dinner. We saddled up some horses at the stables and then followed in a line to an old homestead that is on the resort property where they had a surprising delicious BBQ dinner ready for use. The highlight was the baked beans, so good. turns out it is a secret recipe of on of the cowboys and it is very well protected. Adam's horse was Herbie and he was bothering my horse Dot. Herbie kept on getting into Dots business,if you know what I mean, and Dot was not having any of it. So Dot and I had to have some words with the boys. But over all this was a great why to end our weekend the weather was great and on the way back to the stables there was a great little rainbow in the distance. to make it all the better the minute we got back to our room there was a big rain storm that lasted the rest of the night. All in all is was a great relaxing weekend.

Baby Update: I am 12 weeks along now closing in on the Second Trimester and nothing has really changed other than some of my pants don't fit unless I have the top button undone. So if you see me walking around pulling up my pants that is why :-) I have also increased my love of elastic waist pants, namely my workout pants or pajamas. When I feel I have to wear those all the time in public I know that it is time to go to the maternity store and get some real pants.

according to different sources the baby is about the size of a lime or an egg now. I swear I feel some kicking around in there every once in awhile but everything I have ready says that it is a little early for that. It might just be gas:-) I think I might be one of the lucky few who do not get morning sickness (score!) The biggest things to come up so far is revisiting puberty with pimples. Everyday a new little vistor on my face. I am a grown women for goodness sake! but that seems to be clearing up. I also get more headaches than I have ever gotten which sucks but nothing that I can work through at the moment.

We have our next Doc appt in a couple weeks so hopefully we will have some fun information.

Big News!

This is my first attempt a blogging so just go with me on this! Well, if you are at this site then you have probably received the news that we are expecting a new addition to our family. We are so excited and thrilled at the prospect of having a little someone running around our house that we can hardly wait until December. So if you don't know here are all the vital details:

As of today I am 10 weeks into this 40 week process. it has gone by surprisingly fast and slow at the same time, it is very strange. No real horrible pregnancy side effects. Actually I am tired all the time but that has turned into a blessing in disguise, I can fall asleep pretty much anywhere I want now! before it would take me about 45 mins to fall asleep now I am out before I hit the pillow. Does not really help when I am at work but if you angle yourself right nobody knows that you have dozed off. you just look very involved in the worksheet you are looking at. very busy, cant be disturbed.

There is only 1 baby!!! Wahoo!!! both Adam and I have twins that run in our families and were really not excited about the prospect of having both of our planned children at the same time. and neither was my waistline!

we had our first ultrasound on Friday and that was amazing! I have been in a mild state of denial for the past month or so because I have not had any terrible symptoms of early pregnancy yet so I kept thinking the 5 home pregnancy tests and the 1 I made the nurse give me at the doctors office were all faulty and someone was going to tell me that it was all a joke. But then on that little screen was a little head with two arms and two legs floating around and I figured that the ultrasound machine could not be faulty as well. the doc seemed pretty sure I was pregnant so I guess it is true. I think we might have a showmen on our hands because when he was on screen he did a little dance and waved so he likes to have the attention already.

Yes, we will find out if it is a boy or a girl, but we won't know until the end of July. there will be some serious decorating going on after that so if your free come on up.

And finally the big one, we will have a baby by Christmas. Currently the due date is 12/12/08. If I don't have a baby by Christmas there will be one uncomfortable, angry mommy on Adam's hands so do feel sorry for him later. Most important thing is I still get a full Seahawks season in and they have really cute baby onesies at the pro shop.
Anyhoo, that is all I have for right now. I will try to keep everyone up to date on any additional news but for right now I am going to go take another nap!
